The Benefits of Chemical Peels:

  • Dual-action, highly effective peel designed to provide skin renewal and stimulation
  • Utilizes a blend of exfoliants, retinol and multi-action agents to significantly improve skin health and treat many signs of aging
  • Supports improvement of skin barrier protection and improves the skin’s ability to repair and renew itself
  • Provides antioxidant protection as well as anti-irritant benefits

ZO® Stimulator Peel™

ZO® Stimulator Peel™ is designed to exfoliate the skin by stimulating cellular turnover to improve skin tone, texture and clarity.
This peel contains 3 different acids to exfoliate your skin and promote cell turnover; with 10% Salicylic Acid, 10% Lactic Acid and 10% Citric Acid. These are known as AHA or Alpha Hydroxy acids – they dissolve dead skin cells and give a great exfoliation to the upper layers of the skin. The salicylic acid works on oily, acne prone skin, and the citric acid gives the skin a healthy glow.

Can You See a Difference After One Chemical Peel?

ZO Peels offer immediate results. However, you can help extend your results by properly caring for your skin before and after your treatment. During your initial consultation, we will carefully evaluate your concerns and discuss the different strengths of peel we offer to help ensure the results you achieve meet your short and long-term needs.

What Should I Avoid Before and After a Chemical Peel?

Reducing exposure to UV rays in the days leading up to your peel will be necessary. We will also recommend that you refrain from exfoliating or using harsh cleansers in the days before your treatment. Be sure to come to your appointment with clean skin free of makeup, perfume, and lotion.

After your peel, we will recommend an appropriate moisturizer to help address redness and peeling. Keeping your skin clean and hydrated can help improve outcomes. We also recommend that you stay hydrated, utilize a high-quality sunscreen, and commit to a daily skincare regimen that can keep you looking your absolute best.

How Many Layers of Skin Does a Chemical Peel Remove?

We offer two different strength peels, both from ZO. The 3-Step Medical Peel is a medium-depth peel. It can remove up to two layers of skin. With This treatment, peeling for up to five days can be expected.

The Stimulator Peel targets the outer layer of skin, but may not result in any peeling at all. Sometimes known as the “lunchtime peel,” this option does not require any downtime.

How Long Does a Chemical Peel Take to Heal?

Peeling after a 3-Step Peel may last for five to seven days. Applying moisturizers and retinol during this time can help to reduce discomfort. There should not be any recovery time following a stimulator peel. While slight redness is possible, most people simply experience softer, more glowing skin after this particular treatment.

Is One Session of Chemical Peel Enough?

One chemical peel session is often sufficient for results, but will not be enough for long-term outcomes. While proper skin care and healthy living can help, you will eventually need another chemical peel to maintain a soft and blemish-free appearance.

The ZO Stimulator Peel is gentle enough to be performed weekly without complications or risks. Many people choose to come every other week or once a month for this treatment. The deeper ZO 3-Step Peel can be performed every three to four weeks, though there will be some downtime following each treatment.

At Rejuvene Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeon takes time to understand the needs and desires of each patient. During your initial consultation, she will carefully listen to your concerns, assess your problem areas, and discuss a treatment plan that can help you reach your current and future goals.
